A little background:  Do you remember an August 13, 2012 article written by Luige del Puerto, in the Capitol Times titled  “Republican Victory Fund spends $28k on Crandall v Fillmore primary”?

In that article, del Puerto reported that the group had sent out mailers touting Crandall’s record and lambasting Fillmore, labeling the latter, for example, as a “liberal.”  (Actually, a close look at Crandall’s record shows that he is the liberal, and Fillmore is the conservative.  Spot the Conservative; Spot the Fake)

Senate president Steve Pierce stated in the article that “while he has been raising money for the group, he has no control over how it spends its funds.”

Really?  Camilla Strongin is the Chairman of the Republican Victory Fund.  She also received $84,000 for “campaign services” on behalf of Steve Pierce in this election cycle.

Hieu Tran is the Treasurer of the Republican Victory Fund.  She is also the Treasurer of Steve Pierce’s campaign.

There are many more connections to the Republican Victory Fund, including Jon Kyl, and others, that make you wonder why they are spending $105,000 to help Rich Crandall defeat Conservative John Fillmore in a Primary leaving nothing to help Republicans defeat Democrats in the General Election!

LD16 Senatorial candidate and current  State Representative John Fillmore  announced today the finding of a poll in his race that,  while it showed a very tight race between himself and the “alleged” carpet-bagger Rich Crandall he was ahead in the votes already cast category  and was holding a wide margin in the “leaning to” in the voting at the polls classification by an almost 3 to 1 ratio. “”Wow”, said Fillmore, “This is like an old Lucille Ball, Desi Arnez comedy where Ricky Ricardo says “ Lucy you got some splaining to do” about the waste of all the money that was dumped against him to support Crandall. “They have been trashing me almost daily with a barrage of Robo-calls, flyers and any other media they could think of, yet I must have support  for me or his message that he was a conservative was just being soundly renounced.” Fillmore stated. “Geesh, I just hope they still have a little left to do what the fund was intended to do, which was elect Republicans rather than just be a personal leadership slush fund for Peirce and Tobin as they evidently thought it was”. The poll was conducted by an outside source and was of 737  likely voters, showing Fillmore at 117, Crandall at 115 already cast early ballots but a 32 votes for Fillmore to 13 for  Crandall of hasn’t voted yet likely  voters with a large undecided group.  The Fillmore campaign has always felt this would be a close race and perhaps this is just a validation of that theory. Perhaps others have done some polling of their own and are finding the same results and that is why Fillmore’s good name is being trashed so bad. Fillmore stated that he wanted to release his finding earlier but thought that just might compel his opposition to spend even more and  maybe, just maybe, some of what they have creatively been making up and then throwing might stick!!

Last night at the Red Mountain Tea Party, Senator Rich Crandall stated and/or admitted

• Yes, his family, the wife and 7 children has moved to Utah
• Yes he has bought a house in Sandy Utah
• Yes, he has committed to schooling in Tennessee
• Yes he moved into an apartment in District 16, on University just over the line to qualify to run
• Yes that the apartment is his ONLY ties to our district
• Yes he had taken a  JOB IN New York that required he abandon his legislative duties before
• Yes he wants to increase his business in Utah
• Yes he needed to get out of State paid professionals to help him get signatures to be on our ballot

But he sees no problem with that, or any of these

Given the facts that he has ,

• Missed over 66% of his voting on issues in the recent past
• Said his commitment was  to his job not his constituents when he was elected
• Sees no problem with transferring his ties from Arizona
• Has a history of changing his story on his residency

Shouldn’t we pass this on to everyone and recommend that we

• SEND THIS CARPET-BAGGER HOME TO BE WITH HIS FAMILY!
• VOTE John Fillmore for State Senate in LD16

Please read this now. Below is a copy of an e-mail sent out by my opponent, Rich (Carpet-bagger) Crandall. Especially disgusting is the attached flyer.

The REAL FACTS ARE –
Rich Crandall carpet-bagged into an apartment in the district (after moving his family to Utah, they do NOT EVEN LIVE HERE IN AZ !!). He has undermined the Republican caucus often voting with the Democrats and missing over 65% of his votes recently. He is rated a R.I.N.O. (Republican in NAME ONLY, a Democrat in disguise) by the Pachyderm Coalition, is called liberal by newspapers and even attends fund raisers for Democrats and “liberal republicans.” He is lying directly to everyone in this e-mail and flyer.
Doug Coleman, a former teacher and a liberal former Mayor of Apache Junction, raised the sales tax there to the highest in the southeast valley and received an “F” from the NRA. Compare Apache Junction today to the next city over which is actually run by conservatives – Gilbert ! They were the same size when Coleman’s disastrous term as Mayor occurred. COMPARE – beauty, and growth!! What kind of conservative is that??
Jeff Davis, a novice, a teacher, sucked in by Crandall’s lies, has been told that “local control” (to them, just meaning more $$ for schools and cities) is a good thing. Heck, he is the bright spot on this ticket and he only got a C+ from the NRA.

THEY ARE CALLING THEMSELVES THE “CONSERVATIVE” TEAM. We do not need them running crazy at the legislature!!!

Good morning friends

This email continues a tradition started about eight years ago. I enjoy getting phone calls from friends and family asking about various candidates running for office. It is nice to be able to share my experiences working with the various people seeking office or reelection. I soon realized however that not everyone has time for a long conversation so I began putting out a list of who I like and why. I know you will not always agree with my picks but at least you know who I am supporting. For races where there is no opposition I do not list anyone’s name. I have also included a copy of the recent mailer for my upcoming race. US Senate – Jeff Flake (I have had numerous interactions with Jeff over the years and have found him to be well educated on the issues and a true conservative. He will represent Arizona well)

US Congress District 5 – Kirk Adams (Some of my most enjoyable political experiences came while working with Kirk when he was the Arizona Speaker of the House. He is professional, passionate about Arizona, an incredibly hard worker and filled with innovative ideas)

State Senate District 25 – Bob Worsley (Talk about raising the bar for Arizona lawmakers! Bob has unparalleled business experience and not-for-profit service that brings a whole new perspective for solving problems. I can’t wait to work with him in the Senate)

State Senate District 16 – Rich Crandall (But of course J)

House of Representatives District 16 (vote for two) – Doug Coleman (Doug is the former Mayor of Apache Junction and a high school teacher at AJ High School for almost three decades. People describe him as a quiet, humble man who works well with people and can solve difficult problems) & Jeff Davis (Jeff teaches AP Government at Mountain View High School; in fact, he was my daughter’s teacher last year. He is a conservative who knows the proper role of government)

Maricopa County Supervisor – Steve Chucri (This was an easy choice. Steve has been the President of the Arizona Restaurant Association for the past several years. He can manage an organization and is known and endorsed by virtually everyone in leadership. Look for great things when Steve and Denny Barney combine their talents to serve on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors)

Justice of the Peace – Cecil Ash (Early in this race I endorsed Cecil Ash because of his years of legal experience and because he worked everyone under the table in the AZ House. He was almost always one of the last to leave for the day. Since my endorsement, Dave Lane jumped into the race also. I served with Dave on the Mesa School Board and loved the perspective and work ethic he brought to the table. He would probably make a great JP also; however, because of his tireless work on sentencing reform, I have to stick with Cecil.

Gilbert Mayor – John Lewis (Anyone who has worked with John knows of his passion for Gilbert and his common-sense approach to government. He will accomplish even more great things with four more years.

THESE ARE THE PEOPLE YOU SHOULD THINK TWICE BEFORE VOTING FOR!
